Events at Kind + Jugend
The event-programme of Kind + Jugend gives detailed information about initial product ideas long before they even reach the market. It communicates trends, showcases fresh designs and innovative new products and reports in detail on successful but already mature products in various markets and countries.
This offers trade visitors a unique opportunity to get a perfect overview of promising designer ideas, innovative concepts, trends and new as well as successfully positioned products for babies and toddlers in a single place: Kind + Jugend in Cologne.
Even now, the first exciting applications for the Kind + Jugend Innovation Award have already been submitted. The renowned prize, which is awarded on the first day of the trade fair in eight categories, is firmly established in the industry. The jury is composed of international trade journalists, as well as security and health experts. Exhibitors of Kind + Jugend 2019 can submit their application until 25 June 2019. The Kids Design Award is also being offered once again: it honours exceptional concepts and designs in the segment of outfitting and furniture for babies and children. Last year’s winner Gintarė Černiauskaitė, a young designer from Lithuania, underlines the impact that the award had on her career: “Through this award I was invited to a workshop with one of the toy manufacturers. This resulted in me slightly adapting the product for the market and licencing the manufacturing rights of the game.”
The Design Parc is an exhibition area where exclusively specially designed children’s furniture, living accessories and games from different countries are displayed. Outstanding, ready for the market products that have already been produced can secure themselves support in the form of a tailor-made sales concept which considerably facilitates their market entry. The participants of this year’s Design Parc have already been nominated. Eleven companies from all over the world will present a broad range of product from eco-friendly furniture to decorations, bags and toys.
The “The Connected Kidsroom” special event will also be continued. Smart products and digital applications that make the lives of parents and children easier will be attractively presented in a children’s room atmosphere.
With the Trend Forum, Kind + Jugend offers both exhibitors and visitors of the trade fair a central information platform. Interesting and exciting lectures on themes of relevance for the market, trends, market figures and questions of distribution will be attractively addressed here by representatives from the industry, commerce and research.
For the first time, the Trend Forum is also the stage for the representation of international consumer trends, which will be presented by experts and cooperation partners from various countries.
