The Patchwork Bear specializes in up-cycling your favorite clothing into beautiful and practical keepsakes. We believe clothes hold special memories: baby’s coming home outfit, grandpa’s favorite t-shirt, game-winning jersey, etc. We transform those memories into patchwork bears,
puppies, quilts and tote bags.
Our products have received numerous awards, notably the Creative Child Magazine Award for Product of the Year for our Memory Bear. We were also included in Oprah’s Favorite Things! The Patchwork Bear is a celebrity favorite- seen with Jessica Alba, Jennifer Garner, Eli Manning and more.
Our Original, Award-Winning Memory Clothes Bear! Everyone has favorite clothes saved away, full of stains and memories: baby/kids clothes, sports jerseys, college/team uniforms, race shirts… We preserve those memories and transform treasured clothes into a custom Patchwork Bear!
The Patchwork Bear was founded by Jennifer Cura in 2004 who combined her skill as an architect with her love of sewing to produce a line of handmade products that are as unique and personal as those who own them.
“My idea of making keepsakes from favorite clothing came from my (and most parents’) nostalgia for those childhood days gone by. Each of my kids had a few favorite clothes that brought back memories of the day they wore them. Rather than give the clothes away or store them in a box, I made them into a quilt and bear. It’s a sentimental way to recycle all those favorite outfits into a family keepsake,” says Cura.
