The Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association (JPMA) is accepting entries to the 2018 Innovation Awards Competition through January 29. More than 100 companies are expected to enter the competition to showcase their most cutting edge juvenile products from the past year. All JPMA Baby Show exhibitors, both association members and non-members, may submit a product for Innovation Awards judging. The deadline for entries is January 29, 2018.
JPMA Innovation Awards recognize products that offer parents innovative ways to safeguard and care for baby, while making their lives easier. Each year a new independent panel of judges from retail, safety groups, and the media winnow down entries to 40 finalists. Product finalists are reviewed in person and scored, then winners are selected in the following categories: Child Restraints, On The Go, Strollers, Infant/Parent Car, Feeding/bathing/changing, Play/entertainment, and Nursery, and Safety.
Eight winners, plus a Best In Show and Parent’s Pick award will be announced during the JPMA Baby Show which is scheduled March 20-24, 2018 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.
“JPMA has been hosting the Innovation Awards for more than 25 years. Winners are widely covered by the media and juvenile product buyers promote these products as examples of the industry’s innovation and dedication to product safety,” says Kelly Mariotti, JPMA Executive Director. “The Innovation Award honors the tremendous amount of work that goes into conceiving and producing each product. It puts products from the mind of a new parent who was seeking to solve a problem on the same playing field as large manufacturers with extensive R&D departments. It’s always exciting to see which products come out on top.”
The Innovation Awards Competition started in 1989 as the Most Innovative Product Contest and has evolved through the years to a highly recognized competition. It was officially named the “Show Off” Product Competition in 1992, however in 2003 JPMA renamed the contest Innovation Awards to more accurately represent the focus on innovation. Past Innovation Award winners include: The Pop®, the cleaner pacifier, from Doddle & Co™; Qdos Zero-Screw Furniture Anti-Tip Kit; 4moms Self-Installing Car Seat; Happiest Baby SNOO; the AEGIS Neonate Medical Wrap, and hundreds of others.

The Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association is a national trade organization of more than 250 companies in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. These companies manufacture and/or import infant products such as cribs, car seats, strollers, bedding, and a wide range of accessories and decorative items. The Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association (JPMA) exists as the voice of the industry on quality and safety for products intended for babies and children. The organization does this by:
· Advocating for safety through product certification programs and legislative and regulatory involvement;
· Supporting a broad and diverse membership through member-only programming and industry promotion;
· And by acting as a comprehensive source for baby product information and education.
JPMA members represent 95 percent of the prenatal to preschool products sold in North America.
