At 26, a diagnosis of skin cancer lead Betsy Johnson to leave the corporate world and dedicate herself to making swimwear and clothes that would keep children safe in the sun.

SwimZip is a swimwear and clothing line designed to make sun protection easy and stylish. The tagline for SwimZip is: “Making UV Protection a Zip.” The collection has literally done that by adding a zipper to swimwear that blocks 99 percent of dangerous UVA and UVB rays.

The zipper design was created so that small children could easily put on and remove their swim shirts. The garments are chlorine-resistant swimwear with UV 50+ protection. The full-length zippers have a protective flap so as not to catch the skin and the seams are flat-stitched so there is no chafing.
