Fair trade ceramic birds interesting shower invites

     Designer Jenny Krauss’ Ceramic Bird Notes, hand-crafted in Peru, come with a small blank piece of 1-in. by 1.5-in. recycled paper rolled up inside their bellies.  

     Available decorated by skilled artists or blank for consumers to decorate with markers or any water-based paint, the ceramic birds are an unusual way to send baby shower invitations, thank you notes, or birth announcements.  They can also serve as shower favors but are not designed as toys for children and are small enough they may cause a choking hazard.

     The “fair trade” products provides financial and emotional support to more than 500 Bolivian and Peruvian female artisans.  The ceramic birds measure .75-in. by 1.25-in. and are individually boxed in attractive containers made of recycled materials.
