Educational Sessions, Tradeshow Awaits Retailers
At ABC 2017 Spring Educational Conference

Scheduled May 1-3 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio is the 9th annual Spring Educational Conference and Trade Show. Retailers will have the opportunity to learn about the benefits of retailer rewards programs and using social media to attract and retain customers.

A welcome reception with a San Antonio Fiesta theme and an industry networking reception with a Texas barbecue theme are scheduled at the convention center.

A trade show featuring more than 80 exhibitors is scheduled from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Wednesday.

Monday morning’s keynote speaker, Eran Harel, will address retailers on the theme “Why and How Every Store Should Have A Rewards Program.” Harel, VP of Business Development at App Card, teaches best practices as he explains how to get the most out of a rewards program.

AppCard offers proprietary software that requires no integration and is designed to allow retailers to personalize and empower their relationships with customers in-store, mobile, web, email, text, coupons, digital receipts, and more.

Tracey Melanson of ReachLocal, will speak make a presentation on “Search, Surf And Social—Be Where Your Customer Is!” ReachLocal’s mission is to help local businesses all over the world reach more local consumers online with innovative, effective online marketing solutions that get results. She’ll discuss how affordable and easy it is to get started using SEM (search engine marketing). Attendees will have the opportunity to learn what’s successful and  working for retailers today and how to get started.

Lindsey Moore, also of ReachLocal, will present a look at social media for  adwords. She’ll discuss steps from google shopping, display ads, retargeting, conversions, a/b testing, and analytics.

In addition, the event will include a millennial panel of pregnant and new moms so that attendees can find out what the industry’s core customer wants, needs, and values, and why. It will be a moderated, town hall style interactive session to help retailers understand today's consumers.

Another open forum will give retailers and vendors an opportunity to discuss the real issues that affect them both and what both need to thrive.

Registration is open to qualified independently owned “brick and mortar” retail stores. Those offering professional services to juvenile industry members and who represent government agencies, trade associations, and charitable associations affiliated with the industry should contact show management for details.

Larry Schur, president of All Baby & Child Corporation, which sponsors the spring educational conference, says “We are also bringing back our retailer rewards programs, including our Booth Crawl which provides retailers with cash back credits on their trade show purchases and our lodging program that provides buy down on retailers lodging based on participation at the conference.”

Brixy, the trade association for specialty retailers, will hold its member meeting on Monday, May 1.
